This blog post is going to be a little different from the previous ones. We have had a lot of birthday parties come in lately to celebrate at the bar. A common question that we get asked as bartenders is what is the best shot to get someone for their 21st. We all want the birthday to be as memorable and great as possible. So, below I have listed the two shots that I always like to give the birthday girl or boy. Different from the other post I am not giving a detailed list of instructions, just what liquors are used and each measurement of those liquors.  

The shot I recommend as a birthday shot for women is called the Birthday Cake or Chocolate Cake shot. It is a yummy two part shot, where the drinker takes the shot and then bites into a lemon that is covered in sugar. The alcohol used for this shot is Frangelico/Frangelica and Citrus Vodka. A shot is 1oz of alcohol, so you pour an equal part of each. 

The final product should resemble a shot of tequila but much tastier!

The next shot I recommend as a birthday shot for men is called a Starry Night. This is another shot that contains two different kinds of alcohol. It is given the name Starry Night because it resembles a night sky with all the stars glowing. The alcohol used for this shot is Jager and Goldshlager. This shot is 1oz of alcohol, so you pour an equal amount of each into the shot glass. 

The final product should be a dark colored shot with gold flecks floating throughout.
